Made by one if the most celebrated master furniture makers in French history, signed by the firm which was lead by François-Honoré Jacob-Desmalter (1770-1841) at the time, this bed is a rare example of the restoration style, circa 1825. The quality of the wood is close to the apex of mahogany domestic furniture at the time, and the gilded bronze design is a short lived and unique, examples of which are rare.
